Arrest for loaded gun in teens car

Manteca Police took a semi-automatic hand gun off the street Friday morning after answering a call of a suspicious occupied vehicle parked across Austin Road from Calla High School.
When police arrived the car had already left the area. Officers found it in a service station on the west side of Highway 99 at the corner of Yosemite Avenue and Northwoods Drive.
Six units responded to the scene after hearing a semi-automatic hand gun had fallen out of the youth’s waistband as he got out of the car.  He was placed face down on the concrete slab between gas pumps as officers detained him and his passengers. The driver had a cast on his apparently broken right arm.
Jiovanni Eleazar Paco, 18, of Lathrop and his two passengers were interviewed as to why they had been sitting across from Calla School while classes were in session.  The other two were released and Paco was transported to the San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.  No court date has been set but he remains in jail in lieu of $6,000 bail for carrying a loaded concealed weapon in a motor vehicle.
