A customized motorcycle made to suit your personality from Backroads Custom Cycles Tracy could go to someone who pays extra to roll the dice during the ninth annual casino night fundraiser taking place Saturday, Sept. 26, from 6 to 11:30 p.m. at the MRPS Hall, 133 N. Grant St. An example of the firm’s handiwork is now on display at the Manteca Best Buy store.
Tickets to the casino night are $35 each. You can also buy into the Texas Hold ‘Em tournament for $20. If you buy both in advance the cost is $50.

The motorcycle is being made available by Backroads Custom Cycles owners Ken and Mary Crawford who are also Manteca residents. They are impressed with the free tutoring services offered through GECAC that help more than 2,000 struggling youth each year improve their grades.
GECAC is partnering with Manteca-Ripon Pentecost Society (MRPS) to strengthen children’s opportunities in South County communities. The partnership will help each organization raise funds to benefit the children they support in their programs - GECAC to support their after school programs, and MRPS to support their scholarship funds. The two organizations are teaming up to stage the casino night.
“My husband Bill and I are honored to be included in the event this year,” said MRPS Hall representative Andrea Cambra. “We have supported GECAC for many years and our daughters have gratefully benefited from the many programs GECAC provides. We attend this event every year and look forward to spending the evening again this year with many friends”
Give Every Child A Chance provides free after school one-on-one Mentor/Tutoring for at risk children in grades kindergarten through 12th grade who are having difficulty passing proficiencies, who have a “D” or “F” (in an academic subject) on their report card, or are in special education (resource) classes. GECAC matches community volunteers from the communities of Lathrop, Manteca, French Camp, Ripon, Escalon, Banta, and South Stockton, to serve as mentor/tutors at each of the 38 sites located throughout the four school districts. The mentor/tutor works directly with teachers in the district helping and encouraging children to become successful, independent, and life long learners.
