STOCKTON — An open forum featuring the three candidates running for superintendent of San Joaquin County Office of Education will be held Thursday, April 24, in the Fireside Room of Central United Methodist Church in Stockton, 3700 Pacific Avenue. The event, which is open to the public free of charge, will begin with a “meet and greet” starting at 6:15 p.m. followed by the presentation of the candidates at 6:30 p.m.

The event is sponsored and hosted by the San Joaquin County Taxpayers Association, Inc. (www.sjtax.org).

The three candidates running in the June primary elections are Mike Gillespie, James Mousalimas , and Jeff Tilton. Those who have questions for the candidates can forward them in advance via emai to www.sjtax.org. All questions will be held in strict confidence and those submitting their queries will remain anonymous.

The two candidates garnering the highest votes in the June elections will go on to a run-off election in November. If one of the three gets more than 50 percent of the votes in June, he will be declared the winner and there will be no run-off election in November.
