Climate change meeting topic

STOCKTON - The League of Women Voters of San Joaquin County (LWVSJC) will host its kick off for 2009/10 with an informational program entitled Climate Change Impacts on the Central Valley and Delta Region on Saturday, Sept. 12, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Valley Brew Co.


The event is open to both LWVSJC members and guests at no charge. There will be a no-host lunch after the program for those wishing to stay after the presentations.


LWVSJC members and guests will have an opportunity to better understand the climate changes affecting the Central Valley and Delta Region during presentations by experts Maurice Roos, Chief Hydrologist with the Division of Flood Management, Dept. of Water Resources; and Dr. Stuart Wooley, Asst. Professor, Biological Sciences at CSU Stanislaus.


Anyone who is interested in the LWVSJC is invited to attend to learn more about the organization, its purpose and get a peek at the many events and activities planned for the 2009-2010 year.
