Colony Oak graduates 26 & retires two 1st grade teachers

Two Trustee Awards were presented to graduating eighth graders – Madeline Bettencourt and Kyle Kresse – at Colony Oak School last week for excellence during their last year in elementary school.

One class of 26 students filled the stage in the school’s multi-use room adjacent to Murphy Road.

School District Trustee Chad Huskey presented the plaques.  Ziggy Robeson who was recently elevated from principal to district superintendent addressed the students on their successes at Colony Oak and their futures in high school.

Two first grade teachers Jeannette Lee and Lynnette Lucchesi were lauded for their years of teaching at Colony hearing the appreciation of the parents through their applause and the plaques they received on their retirement last Thursday night.

Guest speaker addressing the grads was graduating Ripon High senior Shannon Wesley.

Their class motto will ring on in their ears: “Don’t tell us the sky’s the limit when there are footprints on the moon!”

The graduates included Madeline Bettencourt, Cianna Borrego, Allison Coit, Lorna Garcia Silva, Marco Gutierrez, Cody Heusel, Heleen Hitchcock. Madison Hoogendorn, Nicholas Ioppini, Vanessa Jauregui, Kyle Kresse, Kepu’alipa’a Lee, Alfredo Limon, Jennifer Marquez, Kaitlin McCulley, Savanna Mendoza, Logan Meal, Kate Phelps, Anna Rinne, Nathaniel Salvatorelli, Adrian Sanchez, Jason Simmons, Justin Swilley, Hunter Taberna, Katie Van Diver and Spencer Williams.
