Manteca Police Street Crimes Unit in coordination with a state parole officer arrested a 33-year-old man in a Tuesday afternoon traffic stop with two stolen and loaded hand guns, seven grams of heroin and two grams of methamphetamine.

Sgt. Chris Mraz said Tuesday evening that the guns had been reported stolen from Oakdale and Campbell.  One was a .38 cal revolver and the other a .22.

Frankie Cervantes, 33, was arrested in the 1700 block of East Yosemite shortly after 2 p.m., Mraz said, further noting that the suspect is a documented Sureño gang member.

Officers reportedly found packaging materials used in drug sales in the man’s car.

He was charged with being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition while in the commission of a felony and possession of methamphetamine and marijuana for sale, police said.

Cervantes was transported to San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp awaiting transfer back to state prison.
