LATHROP – A man was found with shot gun wounds before sunrise Thursday on the ground of a Lathrop business.
Lathrop Police Services deputies responded at around 6 a.m. to a report of a person shot in the 15000 block of McKinley Avenue.
Deputies found a male victim lying in the employee parking lot of the business with a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Emergency personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he was placed on life support.
Witnesses described the suspect as wearing a black “hooded” sweatshirt. He was seen fleeing from the location on foot heading east bound from the business. No vehicle was seen or heard.
The name of the victim is not being released pending the notification of next of kin.
