A Manteca Police officer fired two rounds into the front right tire of a stolen vehicle Thursday morning after the suspects rammed a patrol unit and then threatened a detective with the vehicle.

The shots disabled the vehicle. No one was injured and the two occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

The incident unfolded at 8:30 a.m. Thursday when a Manteca Police detective spotted a stolen vehicle with two occupants in the parking lot of the Manteca Inn Motel at 150 Northwoods.

The detective unit pulled up behind the car and as the detective and an unnamed uniformed officer approached, the driver accelerated and rammed a patrol unit blocking its path.  The uniformed officer put two rounds into the right front tire disabling the car.  Both occupants had warrants and were arrested.
