RIPON - The Ripon Police Department is looking for a lone Hispanic male who has been exposing himself to local girls walking on city streets.

The man is described as being in his late 20s or early 30s with short brown hair and being of an average stocky build and driving a teal green Honda Accord with a gray interior.  He was said to be wearing a polo-type shirt with white stripes and brown shorts.  The vehicle has a partial license plate number of 5WL.

Police said the man exposed himself to three female juveniles in two separate incidents.  The first took place near the pedestrian overcross of Highway 99 on North Acacia Avenue near Pine Street shortly before 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The girl told officers that as she walked towards the overcrossing she saw a car parked at the base of the elevated walkway.  She said she approached the vehicle and asked the lone male driver to use his cell phone when he offered her a ride – saying he had no phone.

The girl declined the ride and continued to walk away from the car, she told officers.  The motorist approached the girl again and exposed himself to her.  She continued to walk away and he drove off, police said.

A similar incident occurred about the same time in the 200 block of North Wilma Avenue.  Two young girls reported that they were walking northward on Wilma when a car pulled to the side of the road and stopped ahead of them.

They said as they walked past the stopped car, the suspect exposed himself to them.  The girls crossed the street and contacted a parent who was in the area.  The motorist drove away at that point, police quoted them as saying.

Anyone with information on the two incidents is encouraged to contact Detective Sgt. Steve Merchant at 599-0262.
