A late night shopper in the Spreckels Park shopping center on East Yosemite Avenue was reportedly car- jacked and then briefly kidnapped at knife-point about 8:30 Saturday night by two Hispanic teens believed to be about 19, police said.

The victim was then driven to Phoenix Drive near the Ford Distribution Center, south of the shopping area, where he was ordered out of his 2002 Chevy Astro Van. The two suspects then drove off.

The victim, in his mid-20s, eventually wandered down Spreckels Avenue to Moffat Boulevard where he flagged down a Manteca Police officer explaining in limited English that he had been carjacked and driven to a remote area.

Sgt. Chris Mraz called for the services of a Spanish-speaking officer to interview the victim who had not been injured in the incident.  The carjacking occurred in the area of the T. J. Max store that had already closed, police said.

The two suspects were last seen driving off in the white van in a northbound direction on Spreckels Avenue, Mraz said.  The van did not belong to the victim, as he borrowed it from a friend to do some last minute shopping, he added.
