There are two events coming up in support of the 2012 Manteca Relay for Life taking place April 28-29 at Sierra High to help fight cancer.

A tri-tip dinner takes place this Saturday, March 24, at the MRPS Hall.  It starts at 6 p.m. with a no-host bar with dinner at 7 p.m. and dancing at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $25.  There will be a no-host bar, raffle prizes, a silent auction and a DJ to help everyone dance the night away. For tickets, please call Main St. Café at 825-2242 or email Bettencourt_4@msn.com.

On Saturday, April 21, it will be time to “Paint the Town Purple: as a last push to get the community involved in Relay.  Committee members, team captains, team members, and various volunteers will hit the town by feet and flood Manteca  with purple ribbons, Relay posters, informational Relay door hangers, and anything else that we can come up with to let the city know that Relay is around the corner.

The American Cancer Society is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by saving lives, diminishing suffering and preventing cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.  Relay For Life events will be held in more than 300 communities throughout California, raising $36 million for the fight against cancer.
