Judy Vasquez is the featured speaker during the Manteca Historical Society’s program that takes place tonight at 7 p.m.

The theme will be the history of Doctors Hospital of Manteca (originally Manteca Hospital). Vasquez began her nursing career with training at the County Hospital at French Camp and retired in November 2000 from an administrative position at Doctors Hospital.

Vasquez, past president and current delegate for Soroptimist International of Manteca, was selected for the Manteca Hall of Fame and  recognized as one of 10 women in Manteca for lifelong contributions to the community. Each woman is pictured on a quilt created by Manteca quilter Yone Glover and donated by Manteca Crossroads Quilters to the Historical Society Museum where it is displayed.

The program begins at 7 p.m. at the Museum, 600 W. Yosemite Avenue, and is free and open to the public.  Refreshments follow.
