Airenne Curry of Manteca was presented the Rev. P. Lauritz and Alpha Mork Scholarship award during Honors Day at Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa. The annual event was held April 3 in Waldorf’s Atrium.

Established in 2002 by the Mork children in honor of their parents, the scholarship is awarded to a Lutheran upperclassman that has earned GPA of 3.0 or higher and is active in campus ministry.

In an event possibly unique at Waldorf, scholarship donors are able to meet with the student recipients. At the awards presentation, students and donors share college experiences and discuss career plans. This year, more than 200 scholarships were awarded to Waldorf students, with an additional 14 to be awarded to incoming freshmen.

A selection committee composed of Waldorf faculty and staff reviewed the requirements of each scholarship and determined deserving recipients.

Located in Forest City, Iowa, Waldorf College is a four-year residential, liberal arts college that has been educating students for over a century.
