Ex-Colony Oak principal says its time to move on

RIPON – Sylvia Eheler says it was time to move on.

She’s the former principal at Colony Oak School.

“I am still an employee of the Ripon Unified School District (and) in good standings,” Eheler said via e-mail. “This was a difficult decision for all involved.”

At closed session during the previous meeting, the school board didn’t mention her by name as the personnel placed on the re-employment list, but rather as “the principal at Colony Oak.”

Superintendent Louise (Nan) Johnson said last week that a replacement for the position will be conducted in-house or within the district, hopefully, before the start of the upcoming school year.

As for Eheler, she added: “It (was) time for me to move on to the next step in my career so that someone else can move the school in a different direction.

“I fully support the district’s vision and wish all the Colony Oak staff the best. I will miss the very capable staff as well as the Colony Oak families, especially the wonderful students.”

She just completed her fifth year as the Colony Oak principal.

Before that, Eheler was an assistant principal at a middle school.

She has a degree in English along with single subject and multiple subject teaching credentials from California State University, Stanislaus.
