Sierra High will be hosting its Fall Lobo Gold Rally on Friday.

According to school officials, this is one of the few remaining high school rally-type events honoring students for their academic achievements.

Some 700 students will receive recognition in three categories – Lobo Gold (4.0 GPA or better), Lobo Silver (3.25 GPA or better) and Lobo Blue (2.25 GPA or better).

The special event is scheduled to begin at 10:25 a.m. in the Sierra High gymnasium.

“I’m glad the Lobo Gold rally is back in the gym,” Trustee Evelyn Moore said at last Monday’s school board meeting.

She’s among the many supporters of the event. Included are local businesses, parents and teachers, just to name a few.

Together, they’re making possible the prizes that will be distributed during the Lobo Gold rally.

The rally will also feature entertainment and various skits as performed by students and even a few teachers.

In addition, parents are invited to attend.
