Four registered nurses graduate from Doctors Hospital internship

The most recent group of graduate registered nurses finished their internship last week at Doctors Hospital of Manteca and presented certificates showing their completion of the prescribed experience that put them alongside working professionals in the different departments.

Versant nurses are a select group that must meet strict criteria to be hired by the hospital for the internship program that ensures them a job upon completion.

Part of the program included having the new nurses cut into a traditional congratulatory cake to mark the occasion.

Jamie Vidrio served as an RN resident in the Multi-Specialty South Unit on the night shift.  Living in Stockton she earned her degree at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton.  Her work experience includes being a charge nurse at the Delta Blood Bank and Health Insurance Representative for Tele Tech Communications, and shift lead for Papa Murphy’s Pizza.

Lorna Metzger served as an RN Resident Med Surge on the day shift.  Also receiving her degree from San Joaquin Delta College, she lives in Stockton.  She has worked as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and was a student nurse at Lodi Memorial Hospital. Earlier she worked in sales for Lexus of Westminster, Westminster, CA. 

April Gardow served DHM as and RN resident in Med Surge on the day shift.  She currently lives in Modesto. Her work experience includes working as a realtor for Re/Max Executive and Paul Zagaris Real Estate, Inc., Modesto; customer service representative for Gardner Trucking in Manteca and patient services representative for San Joaquin General Hospital, French Camp.

Kristen Lewis served DHM as an RN Multi-Specialty Unit on the day shift.  She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from the California State University Stanislaus as a Bright Family Foundation Scholarship student.  She had received her AA degree in Natural Science at MJC in Modesto where she was on the Dean’s List.

Her work experience includes being an ER scribe at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto; receptionist and intern at the Turlock Family Chiropractic and earlier working as a service clerk at Save Mart in Modesto.

Tabitha Ortiz served Doctors during her internship as an RN resident in Med Surge on the day shift.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree from West Coast University in Ontario, Southern California and currently lives in Hughson.

Her work experience includes being a corporate secretary for R&T Specialties Inc.; front office medical assistant, Ways Medical OBGYN,  Modesto.
