The Bulletin

The first day of school for students of the Manteca Unified School District is fast approaching.

For ninth graders, they’ll have a chance to quickly get acclimated to their new surroundings with freshmen orientation hosted by Link Crew at the respective campuses.

First off is the one at Sierra High, 1700 Thomas St., scheduled this Friday (July 31) from 8 a.m. to noon in the large gymnasium.

The incoming Class of 2019 can look forward to taking part in a variety of Link Crew ice-breaking activities to kick off the assembly. From there, they’ll break into smaller groups prior to the campus tour.

On Monday (Aug. 3), East Union (1700 N. Union Rd.) and Manteca High (450 E. Yosemite Ave.) will conduct their Link Crew events for ninth-grade students.

Both are scheduled from 8 to 10 a.m. East Union’s will take place at Dalben Center while Manteca High’s will kick off at Guss Schmiedt Field.

At Lathrop High (647 Spartan Way), Link Crew leaders are on tap to meet with the newest additions to the school on Tuesday (Aug. 4) from 8 to 11:30 a.m. in the main gym.

Ninth graders at Weston Ranch High (4606 McCuen Ave.) will also meet that day, from 8 to 10:30 a.m. in the large gym.

Students are required to comply with the dress code as ID photos will be taken later along with receiving their class schedules and locker assignments not to mention to the Cougar Convention Campus Tour. In addition, the fourth annual freshmen lunch will conclude the day, going from 11:50 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The first day of school at MUSD is Thursday, Aug. 6

An early bird session can be conducted online for all grades, from 9 to 10:30 on both days.
