Anyone interested in being a part of The Great Cloth Diaper Change effort to be in the Guinness Book of World Records is invited to contact Tammy’s Baby Shoppe in Manteca. To get the link to the site where one can sign up online, e-mail tamybabyshop@aol.com or drop by the store located at 127 North Main Street just behind the parking lot of Manteca Bedquarters in downtown Manteca. Or call (209) 239-5537.

Deadline for sign-ups at Tammy’s Baby Shoppe is “until we get 30 people,” said Willie Holland who owns the store with wife, Tammy.

The event will be held to coincide with Earth Day celebrations worldwide and will take place Saturday, April 21, with activities starting at 9 a.m. The Manteca store is one of many sited worldwide where participants will take part in the Great Cloth Diaper Change all at the same time.

The purpose of the diaper-change event is “to help save the environment,” Willie Holland said.

The program to be held prior to the actual changing of the diapers will include showing the video of last year’s event, with former Manteca Police public information officer Rex Osborne reprising his role as last year’s emcee.
