The 8th grade students of Golden West are moving on.
Wednesday night the elementary school promoted its eighth grade class onto high school in a ceremony that featured students themselves reflecting on the things that they’ve learned in their time as primary students and the things they’re looking forward to in the future.
In separate speeches, Julieanna Padilla Cook spoke about “Great Things to Come” while Yolanda Maldonado reminded people to “Never Give Up” and Kassandra Rice reflected on things that happened on campus “Over The Years.”
Amalia Lopez led students, parents and friends in the Pledge of Allegiance, and Lopez joined Jasmine Mast in introducing the teachers and administrators in attendance.
The class was accepted by Director of Secondary Education Cheryl Meeker and Manteca Unified trustee Evelyn Moore.
