Join hundreds of families in lighting-up the 2009 Tree of Lights.

The traditional holiday tree at San Joaquin County Delta College, located at the corner of Pacific and Yokuts Avenues, will come alive with color during the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m.

Tree of Lights offers everyone an opportunity to memorialize a loved one who is no longer with us, or to honor a loved one who holds a special place in your heart.   Donations to light up the tree include listing of the names along the Memory Boards at the base of the Tree.  Names are updated weekly at all locations and are removed at the end of the year, Dec. 31.

In addition to Stockton’s Tree, five other communities will host a Tree of Lights. The inlcude:

•Manteca, Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. at Doctors Hospital of Manteca, 1260 E. North Street, Manteca.
•Tracy, Friday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m., at Tracy Outlets, Interstate 205 at MacArthur, & Pescadero, Tracy.

“Our Tree of Lights embraces families and friends as they cope with the loss of loved ones during the holiday season, providing a haven for sharing memories while surrounded by song and community support,” said Barbara Tognoli, Hospice of San Joaquin’s Executive Director.

Tree of Lights is made possible thanks to the individual community hosts, and the dedicated Pacific Gas & Electric employee volunteers who decorate the trees and support the logistics of the Tree of Lights.
