Luis Zepeda raced his younger brother, Fernando, several times down Snow Tube Mountain.

This feature is part of ‘Snow on the Farm’ at Dell’Osso Family Farm experience. Luis, 12, and his 8-year-old brother enjoyed tubing down this man-made structure during their outing Thursday with Cub Scout Pack 525.

“We really liked the speed,” said Luis Zepeda, who attends Williams Middle School in Tracy.

Located at 501 S. Manthey Road in Lathrop, the Dell’Osso ‘Snow on the Farm’ will be open to the public through Jan. 4.

Cost for one 90 minute session is $20. Each person is provided with his or her tube and prohibited from sharing.

A double tube is available for those between 36 to 42 inches and accompanied by an adult. Other from that, children must be taller than 42 inches to ride. An escalator transports tubers from the bottom to the top of Snow Tube Mountain.

Luis and Fernando, meanwhile, were bundled up in warm clothing. Included were gloves and ski caps. But that didn’t matter much.

“We couldn’t tell if it was cold (tonight) because we were too busy having fun,” said the younger Zepeda.

Tami and Toby also enjoy bringing their three young daughters to Dell’Osso Farms. The Ripon family was there a few months earlier for the Pumpkin Maze.

“It’s gotten so popular here over the years, especially on the weekends,” said the father, Toby, holding his youngest daughter while his wife and two older daughters enjoyed the ‘Ice Skating on the Farm’ attraction.

‘Ice Skating on the Farm’ opened about three years ago. Featured is an ice skating rink measuring 60 feet by 120 feet.

On Monday through Friday, cost (skates included) is $12 general admission (ages 8 and up), $10 for children (age 7 and under), and $10 for special stroller skating (10 a.m. to noon).

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, general admission (skates included) is $14 and child is $12.

“It’s tough to skate on the weekends because there are so many people,” said Toby, who prefers the not-so-busy weekday crowd.

“From here, we’re going to do ‘Lights on the Farm,’” he added.

This ‘Snow on the Farm’ attraction allows folks to drive through a magical mile of lights. Included are 240 different light displays coupled with a 200 foot long light tunnel.

Hayrides and the Dell’Osso Express Train are other options on this holiday season ride.

Cost per vehicle (car or truck) is $10, commercial vehicles (vans, limos, mini buses) is $20, open air ride (hayride or tram) is $5 per person, and the Dell’Osso Express train is $3 per person.
