Knights of Columbus announces new officers

St. Anthony Knights of Columbus Council 10693 in Manteca has announced its new officers for 2009-10.

The officers are: Grand Knight or local president Mel Picanco, Deputy Grand Knight Jesse Page, Chancellor James Graham and Recorder Manuel Umbalin.

Other officers are: Financial Secretary Mark Lilly, Treasurer Gene Marx, Advocate Vern Mendes, Warden Ron Laplume and Guards Tony Villanueva and Henry Loya.

The Board of Trustees includes: Dan Lehman, Les Thomas and Al Haman.

Grand Knight Picanco has been a member of the Knights of Columbus for 26 years, serving in various positions. He resides in Manteca with his wife Dorothy.

With 1.7 million members, the Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic family fraternal service organization. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, the community, families and young people. In 2008-09, the Knights of Columbus at all levels of the organization raised and distributed $145 billion to charity and rendered 69 million hours of volunteer service.
