LATHROP — Chairmaine Barajas, who succeeds Steve Dresser as event chairperson of the annual Lathrop Relay for Life, is inviting the public to attend a Relay Kickoff Thursday, Feb. 10, starting at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Express on South Harlan Road in Lathrop.
“For now, I am the contact person. I am still looking for committee members. That night, people can come and get information about our event, sign up as a team captain, join a team, or join the committee,” said Barajas who is the 2011-2012 event chairperson.
“We will also be registering survivors for the event” during the kickoff meeting, Barajas added.
The two-day Lathrop Relay for Life to be held on the campus of Lathrop High School, is scheduled for Aug. 27 and 28.
