LATHROP — The City of Lathrop Parks & Recreation Department and Mayor’s Art Show Committee is preparing for the 19th Annual Mayor’s Art Show & Sale.

The purpose of this event is to display art work from the community that may be purchased by the city for its permanent collection or by the public. Entries will be accepted at Lathrop City Hall, 390 Towne Centre Drive on Friday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, April 28, 9 a.m. to noon. The fee is $10 per entry and all pieces submitted must be for sale. A maximum of three entries may be submitted per participant.

Several awards are available including: Mayor’s Art Purchase Award, 1st Place Category Awards, Sponsor Awards and People’s & Student Choice Awards.

Artwork will be displayed for public viewing April 30 through May 11 at Lathrop City Hall, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (April 30 viewing will only be from 1 to 4 p.m.). A reception for artists and invited guests will be held on Friday, May 11, from 6 to 8 p.m.
