The four-story, 91-room Towneplace Suites by Marriott Hotel is planned for the vacant lot on East Main Street adjacent to Angle Petroleum service station off northbound Highway 99.

Towneplace Suites by Marriott Hotel is a 54,382-square-foot, 91-room, four-story project planned along East Main Street in Ripon along northbound Highway 99.

That’s the area adjacent to Angle Petroleum service station – Starbucks and the Chevron service station convenience store is across the street.

On Monday, the Ripon Planning Commission will look to approve the Conditional Use Permit by the developer, Venture Hospitality, Inc. The session is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

Commissioners will also look at approving the construction of a 6,394 square foot multi-tenant commercial building near Tractor Supply Co. at 798 N. Jack Tone Rd.

The Towneplace Suites is at a site that, according to Planning Director Ken Zuidervaart, was approved twice in the past – 2003 and 2007 – for an 85-room hotel. “For reasons unknown, the developers chose not to construct the project,” he said in his report.

Plans also call for a breakfast / food area, two meeting rooms, guest laundry area, a fitness room, and a swimming pool.

All rooms will be studios consisting of a small kitchen / food prep area within the suites.

The project, Zuidervaart added, will include a paved off-street parking facility featuring 93 total stalls while meeting the City standards.
