The latest under-age alcohol decoy operation netted one store employee who was cited for furnishing alcohol to someone the age of 21.

It was the sixth such citation among the three most recent decoy operation effort coordinated by Manteca Police.

The latest decoy effort took place on March 10.

Police were assisted by Manteca Cadets and a state Alcoholic Beverage Control agent.

The operations were conducted at 15 random licensed establishments, consisting of four on-sale licensed establishments and 11 off-sale licensed establishments.

On-sale licensed establishments are premises where the alcohol is sold and consumed on site such as restaurants.

And off-sale licensed establishments are establishments that sell alcohol that cannot be consumed on premises such as grocery stores and liquor stores.

During the operation, an employee from one of the off-sale establishments furnished alcohol to the decoy.

The department wants to remind business owners and employees of licensed establishments to verify identification to ensure purchasers can lawfully purchase alcoholic beverages.

The Manteca Police requests residents and visitors not to furnish alcohol to underage individuals.
