Big to do list during spring break awaits RUSD maintenance

The Ripon Unified School District will be off next week due to spring break.

But for Director of Facilities, Operations & Safety Services Andy Strickland, this is a time for work.

In particular, spring break projects, as he coined it in his report at Monday’s school board meeting,

That to-do list includes carpet in one of the rooms at Weston Elementary School, installing concrete near the kindergarten rooms at Colony Oak Elementary School, put in new plumbing outs of the kitchen at Ripon Elementary School, and create two new office spaces in the former boiler rooms at Ripon Elementary.

He also mentioned completing upgrades to the district office and removing old playground structure and installing new playground equipment for kindergarten students at Colony Oak.

Strickland noted that his crew was kept busy with several ongoing projects.

They put in the drip irrigation system at Harvest High and secured the water fountain along with completing the electrical work at the RUSD’s alternative education site.

Those working in facilities, in addition, installed concrete valve boxes and repaired a broken sprinkler valve at Weston.

They also fixed the main line for sprinklers at Ripona, took care of a broken valve and pipe on softball field at Ripon High, and leveled softball field at Park View.
