Black History Month is being celebrated with a program on Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Manteca Senior Center on Cherry Lane.
The free event for all ages will explore Black history through storytelling, music, art, and discussion.
The event will include:
*Engaging trivia with prizes
*Video presentations
*Live music and dancing
*Food to enjoy
*Raffles & gift baskets for a chance to win prizes
Free movie presentation
on the fentanyl crisis
A free showing of “Fentanyl High,” described as an eye-opening documentary about the devastating impact of the fentanyl crisis, is set for Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Manteca Transit Center, 220 Moffat Blvd.

The film is appropriate for those 12 and older.
Popcorn and drinks will be provided.
There will also be a raffle for high school students.
Mother-son dance March 29
The Manteca Recreation & Community Services’ annual mother-son dance is Saturday, March 29, at the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane.
It features a candy theme, “My Mom is the Sweetest!”
It is a formal attire event.
The cost is $25 a couple and $8 for each additional child.
It is open to moms and their sons who are 1 to 17 years of age.
Disco dance April 19
A disco dance featuring a 1970s theme is set for Saturday, April 19, at the Manteca Senior Center.
The inclusive recreation dance organizers encourage attendees to wear 70s attire.
The cost is $10 per person.
