The Saturation Traffic Enforcement Program is a joint operation consisting of several local police agencies.
Last week, the Lathrop Police Department, with help from other motor officers from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, Stockton Police Department, and Tracy Police Department, teamed up to do extra traffic enforcement focused on preventing vehicle crashes.
On Monday, Lathrop police announced via social media the results of that day.
Officers of the STEP made over 160 stops, issuing 145 citations.
Police said that this was “consistent and tailored traffic enforcement (that was) part of our multi-faceted approach to ensure the safety of our pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers.”
STEP was made possible thanks to the use of grant money, local police added
