The Ray of Hope Children’s Services — a non-profit that currently occupies the second floor of the historic IOOF building the City of Manteca has purchased — is being offered a lease through Jan. 15, 2027.
The short-term lease allows the organization to transition to another location while continuing to provide community services.
Under the proposed lease agreement, the tenancy will be month-to-month at a rental rate of $1 per month.
Ray of Hope will relocate its operations to the first floor of the building to ensure ADA accessibility and will be responsible for utilities during the lease term.
Any improvements to the premises will require approval by the City Manager.
A $500 security deposit will be provided upon execution of the agreement.
Ray of Hope Children’s Services provides crisis-based and essential services to children and families in Manteca.
To support continuity of services while the organization transitions out of the building, the City and Ray of Hope have agreed to enter into the temporary lease agreement.
Last year, the City Council approved the acquisition of the IOOF building that now houses the Manteca Bedquarters as well as the adjacent parking lot located in the 100 block of West Yosemite Avenue.
The city intends to repurpose the structure will preserving its historic architecture to serve as a “gateway” building to downtown that while serve as a community gathering place that most likely will include some type of dining element.
They would like to do the transformation with a private sector partner.
Given the lead time to decide how the space will be used, secure a partner, and complete blueprints, the 11-month lease is expected to be timed just right.
