Manteca Sunrise Kiwanis 11th annual Community Night of Giving is Feb. 20

Manteca Sunrise Kiwanis will be conducting their 11th Annual “Community Night of Giving” at the Manteca Senior Center from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20.

Light refreshments will be served.  

In total, $54,575 has previously or will be distributed to local groups and organizations at the event.

The Manteca Sunrise Kiwanis has been providing community service and funding to local organizations since 1980.  Some of their projects and service includes the Manteca Pumpkin Fair,  Flags over Manteca,  high school scholarships, Bike Trail Clean-up, Community Thanksgiving Dinner, Paint & Sip, Annual Spring Dinner, Christmas Toy Collection, Manteca 4th of July Parade, and various events throughout the year.  Sunrise Kiwanis just as other service groups in the greater Manteca area are committed to help and assist organizations in their mission to provide valuable services to those in need and individuals that will are working toward their educational and career goals.

This year’s recipients and those receiving funds during the year include: American Legion Post 249 Foundation, Delta Humane Society/SPCA, East Union JROTC, Friends of East Union Cemetery, Give Every Child A Chance, Manteca Police Explorers, Camp Taylor, Great Valley Bookfest,  Manteca Historical Society, Sierra High Sober Grad, Manteca Rotary Omelet Breakfast,  Healthy Rooms Project, Valley Caps, Manteca Community Thanksgiving Dinner, Wide Horizons,  Thomas Toy Community Center, Boys & Girls Club of Manteca, VFW Post 6311, Kiwanis Children’s Foundation, Kiwanis Family House, Kiwanis Rose Float, Manteca Police Chiefs Foundation, Manteca Youth Focus & Pumpkin Fair Kid Zone, CERT, SHARP-MPD, Second Harvest Food Bank, Boy Scout Troop 432, His Way Recovery, Without Permission and Pumpkin Fair designated recipients Agape Villages, Every 15 Minutes and Raymus House/Hope Ministries. 

This will bring the total distributed since 1980 to $1,366,903.

Kiwanis International started in 1915 in Detroit Michigan and has grown to over 16,000 clubs in 80 nations with an average of over 18 million volunteer hours and over $100 million going toward projects in their local communities annually.  Overall Kiwanis members participate in nearly 150,000 projects per year.
