Music on Maple taking place this Thursday; Parky’s Picinic July 24

Manteca is celebrating National Park & Recreation Month on Thursday, July 17, at this month’s Music on Maple event.

It takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. in the 100 block of North Maple anchored by the post office in downtown Manteca.

The City of Manteca Recreation and Community Services event includes food trucks and other vendors, live music, a beer garden, VW car show, and roller skating as well as skateboard demonstrations.

There will also be line dancing and Zumba demonstrations. Art class demonstrations will also be conducted.

There is free entry. No outside alcohol permitted.

 

Parky’s Picnic July 24

As part of the National Parks and Recreation Month, Manteca Recreation & Community Services is staging Parky’s Picnic at Woodward Park on Thursday, July 24, at 2 p.m.

Parky is the division’s mascot.

The free entry event includes lunch, games, riders, arts and crafts, competitions, and more.

 

Movie in the Park Aug. 9

The next Movie in the Park is Saturday, Aug. 9, at Woodward Park.

“Detective Pikachu” is the movie being screened by Manteca Recreation & Community Services.

Activities start at 5 p.m. with live music, food trucks, vendor booths and games.

People are invited to bring blankets and chairs for the movie that starts at sunset.

The recreation office has relocated to 295 Cherry Lane at the Manteca Senior Center.
