Registration starts Monday for swimming lessons and summer camp being offered through the Manteca Recreation and Community Services Department.

You can register online, by email, via fax or in person at the recreation department at 252 Magnolia Ave. at the Civic Center campus. More information is available by calling the office at (209) 456-8600 or by email at recreation@mantecagov.org.

Swimming lessons

You have the option of group or private swim lessons. Group lessons are offered on nine different skill levels with five programs designed for those 6 and older as well as four younger age specific programs for those nine months to three years, three to five years, and four to six years.

There are six sessions. Four sessions cover two week periods, Monday through Thursday for eight lessons at 40 minutes each. The cost is $65 for Manteca residents and $75 for non-residents. Lessons take place at the Lincoln Park swimming pool. The upcoming sessions are June 7-17, June 21-July 1, July 5-15, and July 19-29.

There are two one week sessions also Monday through Thursday Aug. 2-5 and Aug. 19-12. They have prorated fees of $32 for city residents and 42 for non-city residents.

Private one-on-one swim lessons for 9 months through adults are available at the Lincoln Park pools for $130 for residents and $140 for non-residents. It consists of four Monday through Thursday 40-minute lessons. Lessons are offered June 7 through Aug. 12. There are three sessions available on Saturday for private lessons. One session is June 12, 19, 26, and July 3. The second session is July 10, 17, 24, and 31. The final session is Aug. 7, 14, 21, and 28.

 Registration for upcoming sessions closes at 6 p.m. the prior Thursday of the session you want your child in.

Summer Camp

Summer camp is being conducted June 7 through July 23 at Lincoln Elementary School.

There are two options: Five days a week at $175 per week or four days a week at $150 per week.

The hours are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The camp is designed for kindergartners through sixth graders ages 5 to 11. Those aged 12 to 15 may participate as recreation leaders.

The day camp is packed with arts and crafts, games, and outdoor play as well as field trips and guest speakers.

Space is limited.

COVID-19 protocols in place at the time will be followed.
