Jacob Naven in his bid to unseat Manteca Mayor Gary Singh has secured the endorsement of Ripon Vice Mayor Dean Uecker.

 Uecker cited Naven’s business experience, leadership, and commitment to the community.

 “I am honored to have Dean Uecker’s endorsement,” Naven said.

“His decades of leadership and service show a strong commitment to the families and businesses that keep our communities thriving.”

Uecker has served on the Ripon City Council for 20 years.

He has been selected by his council peers four times to serve as mayor.

Singh is seeking his second four-year term as Manteca’s mayor in the Nov. 3 election.

Prior to his election in 2022 as mayor, Singh served six years on the council.

Naven has served as President of the Kiwanis Club, on the Chamber of Commerce Board, and as Chair of the nonprofit Give Every Child a Chance.

He has also coached youth baseball and soccer, held church leadership roles, and most recently helped coach Sierra High School’s tennis team to back-to-back Sac-Joaquin championships.

 In 2020, he chaired the Doctors’ Hospital Board after six years of service.

Council members Mike Morowit and Dave Breitenbucher’s are both running for re-election for their respective district seats.
