Same good food at new downtown digs for Ede’s Taco Shop

Ede’s Taco Shop moved to a new location along Historic downtown Ripon not too long ago.

The local business that offers up authentic Mexican dishes is now at 424 W. Main St., which was once the Carquest Auto Parts-B and Z Auto Parts.

Not lost in the move is subtle flavors of tacos – a choice of chicken, beef, and asada served in a light crispy shell or street – enchiladas, tostadas, burritos, quesadillas, chimichangas, taquitos, and Chile rellenos, to name a few, in a combination lunch (one item, rice and beans), dinner (two items, rice and beans), or a la carte.

The popular place for the local high school lunch crowd also offers up tortas, burgers and fries, especially when Ede’s Taco Shop was a few blocks away at 229 W. Main St.

The old building was recently demolished to make for Villa Roddan – a new one-story building with the potential of having six retail / office suites on the estimated 0.15-acre site.

Ede’s Taco Shop announced its new place in March, offering up exclusive indoor dining with a large colorful mural and friendly, prompt service.

It’s next door to the Clarence Smit Museum with the docents such as Connie Jorgensen endorsing their new neighbor.

Upon that recommendation, I not only went there, but enjoyed a combination lunch plate consisting of one chicken taco with the crispy tortilla chips and light salsa.

Ede’s Taco Shop catered a Christmas work gathering several years to rave reviews.

We all enjoyed the street tacos served up with beans and rice, and gladly took home any leftovers.

The dishes are just as good as ever at its new downtown location.
