Spring skate night set for March 21; free cricket lessons on March 23-27

Manteca Recreation & Community Services is staging a spring skate night on Saturday, March 21, at the skate park starting at 6 p.m.

The skate park is off the Tidewater Bikeway just west of Center and Elm streets.

All ages are welcome. Bring skates, skateboards, bicycles and scooters.

There will be food trucks, DJ music, and vendors.

There is no admission to the event.

Open gym returning

to Golden West School

Manteca Recreation & Community Services open gym returns on Fridays and Saturdays from March 13 through June 27 — except for May 1 — at the Golden West Gym, 1031 North Main St.

Admission is $2 at the door.

The 5:30 to 7 p.m. session is for ages 5 to 13.

The 7 to 10 p.m. session is for ages 7 to 10 p.n.

Free cricket demo classes

Free cricket demonstration classes are scheduled for March 23-27 at Doxey Park, 1453 Northgate Drive.

The 30 minute sessions are at 4 p.m. or 4:45 p.m.

Classes are designed for youth ages 7 to 16 and are being staged by the Manteca Cricket Academy.
