A three-year-old boy was struck by a passing vehicle about 1:30 Saturday afternoon near the Pennebaker Apartments on the east side of Manteca, according to Manteca Police Sgt. Michael Aguilar.
The boy was reportedly playing in the area of the 1800 block of Pennebaker Way and ran into the path of a vehicle.  The mother took the boy home where he developed a breathing problem, Aguilar said.  He was taken to an area hospital where he was found to have non-life threatening internal injuries.
