Manteca Unified schools spring concerts starting

Manteca Unified schools launch their spring concert season on Friday.

All concerts are free to the public unless otherwise noted.

Joe Barron invites you to attend the Keep the Music Alive (KMA) Music Concert at the Weston Ranch High School Theater on Friday, April 27, at 7 p.m. High school students will be performing a variety of music (singing, guitar, bands, piano, etc.). The cost is $3 for students and $4 for adults, (5 years old and under free).

The August Knodt “Spring Fling” will happen Friday, April 27, at 5:45 p.m. It will feature performances by all bands, choirs, strings and the August Knodt Color Guard. Jack Hepworth is the director. Food and games will follow the performances.

Lathrop High School will present their “Spring Casual Concert” on Friday, April 27, at 5:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Tickets are $5 at the door. The concert, under the direction of Elizabeth VanEerde and Desiree Bugarin, will feature the bands “Strings Attached” and “Zephyr.” In addition, the Lathrop High School band, choir and dance students will perform.

Under the direction of Terri Richichi, Stella Brockman’s fourth- through sixth-grade choir is singing at the “Relay for Life” held on the SHS track. On Saturday, April 28, they have an 11 a.m. performance.

Sierra High School Concert, Symphonic and Jazz Bands will perform their Spring Concert Wednesday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Seniors will be recognized beginning at 7 p.m. They are under the direction of Rick Hammarstrom.

Stella Brockman will have a Cultural Celebration featuring their sixth- through eighth-grade band. The program is at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, in the Stella Brockman gym. Terri Richichi is the director.

The Veritas School Spring concert will be held Thursday, May 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the Veritas Gym. The Choir and Band will be directed by Terri Richichi, Melissa Manalastas and Mike Mulidor.

The Sierra High School Jazz Band and combos, under the direction of Rick Hammarstrom, will be performing at the first “Jazz Night at the Den” Jazz Club on Friday, May 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the SHS cafeteria. There will be a $5 “cover charge” which includes a soft drink.

Manteca High School will present their Spring Band Concert on Monday, May 7, at 7 p.m. in the MHS Theater. Under the direction of Anthony Dahl and Michael Loya, the concert features the Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and student-led chamber groups. Works to be performed include Air for Band (Erickson), Second Suite in F (Holst), Chorale and Shaker Dance (Zdechlick), Persuasion (Nestico) featuring Michael Loya on Saxophone, and Sang! (Wilson).

There will be a Widmer Spring Music Concert at Joseph Widmer Elementary School in the multi-purpose room on Tuesday May 8, at 6:30 p.m. The Beginning Band, Intermediate Band and 4th-6th grade Choir will be conducted by Kristy Burch.

The Great Valley Spring Concert will take place on May 8, at 7 p.m. This program will include the Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Bands and the Great Valley choir. They are directed by Andrew Hildebrand.

On Tuesday, May 8, Bob Krueger and the McParland Beginning Band will host a parent appreciation concert. The concert begins at 7 p.m. in the McParland main site cafeteria.

Joe Barron will be conducting the Weston Ranch High School Spring Band, Orchestra and Jazz Concert on Tuesday, May 8, at 7 p.m. in the WRHS Theater.

“Made in the USA” will be presented by the Golden West and Shasta School Choirs Tuesday, May 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the Shasta School Multi-purpose Building under the direction of Cindy Karim.

Nile Garden School, under the direction of Mrs. Puck, will have a 5th-8th grade band concert on Tuesday, May 8 , at 6:30 p.m. in the Nile Garden Cafeteria.

The East Union High Jazz Band and Band Spring Concert directed by Terry Silveira will be held Wednesday, May 9, at 7 p.m. in the Dalben Center (gym at East Union).

The Weston Ranch High School Choir and Show Choir will present their Spring Pops Concert on Wednesday, May 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the WRHS Theater. The choirs are under the direction of Jessica Claud. Come out and support the Show Choir as they prepare for their Disney World Performance on May 29 at the Waterside Stage in Downtown Disney.

On Thursday, May 10, at 7 p.m., Lathrop High School will present their Spring Concert. It will be held at the Prestige Retirement Center in Manteca. The concert features the choir and band under the direction of Elizabeth VanEerde and Desiree Bugarin.

Lathrop Elementary School will have its Spring Concert on Thursday, May 10, at 7 p.m. in the Lathrop gym. The Choir and Band are directed by Mike Mulidor.

Brock Elliott will have a Beginner’s Concert on Thursday, May 10, at 7 p.m. in the Brock Elliott cafeteria. They are directed by Melissa Manalastas.

The Golden West School Band Concert featuring the 5th – 8th grade band students will be Thursday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the Golden West School cafeteria. They will be directed by Cindy Karim.

On Thursday, May 10, at 7:30 p.m., the Manteca High School Choir will have its “Pops” Concert in the MHS Theater. They will be conducted by Mary Monaghan and student teacher, Susan Haddorff. Although admission is free, donations for choir scholarships would be greatly appreciated.

The East Union High School Choirs will perform their Spring Concert on Monday, May 14, at 7 p.m. at Manteca Presbyterian Church on North and Main. They will be directed by Anne Talcott and Alyssa Dye.

On May 14, at 7 p.m. the Manteca High Choir will participate in an a cappella “Youth Spring Show” concert held at the Turlock Community Theatre. There will be choirs, ensembles, barbershop quartets from Manteca, Merced, Ripon High Schools; the Golden Valley Chorus and the headliner quartet “95 North.” The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for students. Mary Monaghan is the MHS choir director.

Mossdale School will have its music program on Monday, May 14, at 6:30 p.m. It will be held in the Mossdale gym. The 5th and 6th grade band will be conducted by Mr. Mike Mulidor and the 4th-6th grade choir will be conducted by Mrs. Puck.

The Sierra High School Choir will present their Spring Concert on May 15 at 7 p.m. in the SHS Cafeteria. The choir is conducted by Daniel Talcott.

George McParland Elementary School will have a Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 15, at 7 p.m. Featured performers include Advanced Band and 4th-6th grade choir. These groups are directed by Kristy Burch and Bob Krueger. The concert will be held in the McParland main site cafeteria.

Sequoia Elementary School will have its spring concert on Tuesday, May 15, at 7 p.m. Under the direction of Wendell Dotson, the Choir, Advanced Band, Intermediate Band and Beginnings bands will perform in the Sequoia gym.

The East Union High Lancer Band will perform in a joint concert with the Stockton Concert Band Tuesday, May 15, at 7 p.m. in the Atherton Auditorium on the campus of Delta College. East Union’s band is directed by Terry Silveira.

Stella Brockman has a Beginner’s Debut Band Concert on Wednesday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m. The concert is in the Stella Brockman gym and will be conducted by Terri Richichi.

Dana O’Dell will conduct the George Y. Komure Elementary School 5th-8th grade band concert on Thursday, May 17, in the Komure cafeteria at 6:30 p.m.

Brock Elliott will have the Spring Concert on Thursday, May 17, at 6 p.m. for the choir and 7:30 for the 6th-8th grade Band in the Brock Elliott cafeteria. They are under the direction of Melissa Manalastas.
