RIPON – Kevin Werner and Ken Zuidervaart will serve on the oversight committee on projects that were once made possible by the former Ripon Redevelopment Agency.
The announcement was made at a recent Ripon City Council meeting by Mayor Elden ‘Red’ Nutt.
Not too long ago, Nutt and his colleagues voted to create a “successor agency” in place of the defunct RDA.
Werner, who is the city engineer, and planning director Zuidervaart will be part of the group that will oversee the remaining projects.
Included is the expansion at the Mistlin Sports Complex. Council, last year, approved $3.3 million in bond revenue for the baseball / softball fields.
In other action:
• Council voted to give staff the authority to execute federal and / or state funding from the California Department of Transportation for the purpose of improving Main Street, from Acacia Avenue to Nourse Street, for about $400,000 designated specifically for landscaping and beautification, with work possibly including brick columns and a metal trellis. No discussion was necessary.
• Elected leaders gave their OK for the destruction of records that are of no further administrative, legal or fiscal value. This registry was reviewed by each of the department heads along with city officials.
• Council also accepted the City of Ripon’s investment policy quarterly review, from Oct. 11 through Dec. 11. No discussion was necessary.
