McDonalds is going blue in support of law enforcement in Manteca and throughout San Joaquin County.
In a gesture of respect and appreciation for the Manteca Police Department’s men and women in blue, the lighting of blue lights on the restaurant at 1236 West Yosemite Avenue will take place Thursday, Dec. 15, at 5:30 p.m.
McDonalds of has already hung blue lights on the outside of 29 restaurants throughout San Joaquin, Sacramento and Amador countries.  The Beacon of Blue honors the lives of the late and current law enforcement officers and promotes peace in those communities.
The first 100 Manteca area residents attending the Thursday event will be given a blue light bulb. McDonalds hopes the blue lights will shine outside businesses and area homes in the Manteca area and show the Manteca officers that their community supports them.
The goal of the partnership between McDonalds of San Joaquin County and the Manteca Police Department is for the entire town to glow in blue.  A blue light symbolizes honor, integrity, safety, and peace and honors the lives of both the fallen and the active police officers on the street.  Manteca Police Department has chosen to participate in the Beacon of Blue lighting of their neighborhood McDonalds to show their support for their department and its officers.
