Melons subject of garden meeting

The Manteca Garden Club invites the public to the first meeting of the new season on Monday, Sept. 17, at the Manteca Library, 320 W Center St. Manteca.

Marlene Champlin, from Perry and Sons will speak at 1 p.m. talking about the company, melons and squash, recipes, cooking tips and how to pick the perfect watermelon.  Refreshments will be served at 12:30 p.m.

The club meeting will take place after the speaker.  For those interested in joining the club, membership is open for the new season for $25.  The club  has scheduled monthly meeting with interesting speakers and field trips.  Find more information at mantecagardenclub.org or call Paula Elias 209-239-5104.
