The Park View Elementary School Class of 2017 promotion exercises Thursday will always be special for Mona Ogden.
This was her last as principal of the school. After 32 years with the Ripon Unified, Odgen, who previously served as vice principal at Weston, is retiring.
The recently-hired Eva Matthews will be the next Park View principal.
Fittingly, the class song at this special event held in the Multi-Purpose Building was Miley Cyrus’ “I’ll Always Remember You.”
The alumni speaker was Aiyana Herrera, who is valedictorian for this year’s Ripon High graduating class. Gabriel Herrera had the honors of introducing her to those in attendance.
In one of her last official duties, Ogden presented the class to Ripon Unified school board member Caroline Hutto for the distribution of promotion certificates.
