One of three teenagers on their skateboards was hit by a 2005 southbound Dodge CRT as he was crossing the roadway within a crosswalk Sunday afternoon, just north of the Union Pacific Railroad crossing on South Main Street at Moffat Boulevard.

The impact of the teen’s body crushed the car’s windshield and his skateboard was lodged beneath the vehicle.

Witnesses at the scene said the driver stopped within some 30 feet of where the teen rolled off the car and landed in the brick covered center divider.  Several motorists stopped and went to his aid as did the two other skateboarders.

The youth had obvious head and arm injuries as he was transported to an area hospital.  Traffic on South Main Street was halted for about 40 minutes.
