LODI — San Joaquin County Historical Museum docents will be conducting a yard sale in Lodi on Saturday, Sept. 17, to raise money for the group’s Raise the Barn effort.

The sale will be located at 421 W. Vine Street from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds from the sale of items donated by docents will go to the barn project.

Last spring the docent council launched its Raise the Barn effort to raise $200,000 to build an education building for the museum’s youth programs. The building, planned to look like a barn in fitting with the museum’s Pioneer Village concept, will provide desperately needed space for the education programs including Farm to Fork, Valley Days, Pioneer School and the Museum Youth Camp.

Another Raise the Barn event will be held in two weeks. Bluegrass & Wine will be held Oct. 1 for a pickin’ and sippin’ good time on the museum grounds in Micke Grove Park south of Lodi from 2 to 6 p.m. Tickets, available by calling the museum, cost $35 per person.

For more information, call the museum at (209) 331-2055 or (209) 953-3460 or visit the website at sanjoaquinhistory.org.
