ROUNDUP: Lathrop’s Beckman earns WAC golf MVP award
Bulletin sports logo

Lathrop freshman golfer Brayden Beckman completed his run to the Western Athletic Conference’s MVP honor on Wednesday, finishing with the third-place score of 82 in the conference tournament.

Mountain House’s Chandler Frahm and Aiden Silva of Beyer were co-medalists with 80s, but Beckman had a large enough lead in the season standings for that to not matter.

Mountain House and Beyer finish as co-champions and will be joined by third-place Los Banos in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV Tournament next Monday at Yocha Dehe. Lathrop narrowly missed the third and final team berth but has three individuals heading to the SJS tourney.

Joining Beckman are Jaden Wall and freshman Raphael Iniguez, who carded a 99 and 105, respectively, in the WAC tournament. Matthew Hammond finished with a 104, and Ashneil Jeet a 116.
