Christopher “Kit” Oase is the new president of the Ripon Unified school board.

He was selected earlier this month by by his colleagues at the annual organization session as the one to spearhead the board meetings.

Oase, in his first official duty, recognized Ernie Tyhurst for his services as board president during the past year.

Chad Husky was then picked vice president while Christina Orlando was tabbed clerk.

Staying with tradition, Superintendent Siegrid “Ziggy” Robeson accepted her nomination to continue as board secretary.

Trustees, in addition, agreed to re-up with the City of Ripon for another year on using the Council Chambers to conduct the monthly sessions.

Speaking of which, they approved the 2016 meeting calendar, calling for two sessions in June (June 20 and June 27) in preparation of the annual budget, and a late July session (July 25) in order to make any necessary adjustments on new hires for the 2016-17 school year.
