Handbell concert set for Sunday
One of the popular performances ever presented by the Manteca Kindred Arts – the Opus Handbell Ensemble – will take place again this season on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 3 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, North Street and Powers Avenue.

Admission at the door is $15 while those under 18 years of age are $5. Pro-rated season tickets are still available. More information is available go to www.mantecakindredarts.com or call Don Peterson at 823-2570.

Kindred Arts organizers noted the ensemble “was a holiday show stopper for the past three seasons and it has become part of a tradition to welcome them back…  Audiences have been awestruck by their musicianship and presentation.”

The Opus Handbells have been a featured group for the past two years with the Modesto Symphony during their Holiday Pops Concert.

They will perform under the direction of Richard J. Colla.

Main Street Café concert set tonight
A concert at the Main Street Café dubbed “A Rockin’ Stocking” Christmas tonight at 7 p.m. will benefit the Salvation Army coat drive.

Admission is $7 or $5 with the donation of a gently used coat.

The three bands are Ty Caskey, Skouts Honor, and Divided We Fall. Skouts Honor is from Manteca.

The Main Street Café address is 1351 N. Main St.

FESM New Year’s Eve Party tickets
The FESM New Year’s Eve Dinner and Dance takes place Thursday, Dec. 31, at the FESM Hall, 230 N. Main St.

Dinner includes New York Steak & shrimp, baked potato, salad, bread & butter, and cheesecake.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with dinner being served at 7:30 p.m.

Dance Music by Manuel Jacinto from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. There is an open bar all night.

Tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for children 6 to 12.

Delicato Vineyards fine art show entries
Delicato Vineyards is holding its 22nd annual Fine Art Show from Saturday, Jan. 16, through Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010. All art in this show will be available for sale.

Artists who would like to participate in the contest are to bring their entries from Dec. 26 through Jan. 8 to Delicato, located on Highway 99 just north of Manteca. An application form may be obtained by phoning, faxing, E-mailing, or visiting the Wine Tasting Room in Manteca. You may also download the application form from the following site: http://www.dfvtastingroom.com.

Up to five pieces of art per artist may be entered ($8 per entry) in the competition. The contest is open to entries by the creators of original art produced within the last three years. The Manteca Tasting Room Staff will be accepting entries from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mediums of acrylic, watercolor, pastel, oil, charcoal or ink will be accepted. Judging of the original pieces in the categories of Landscape, Wine/Grapes, Portrait, Animals, Whimsical and Other will be held on Saturday, Jan. 9.

Delicato Vineyards is located on Highway 99, four miles north of Manteca. The tasting room, where the art will be displayed, is open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Joni Morris staging ‘Patsy Cline Christmas’
LODI - Joni Morris is well-known for her own special tribute to the queen of country music,  Patsy Cline.

On Sunday, Dec. 20, Joni will present her new tribute during a 3 p.m. show dubbed “Patsy Cline, Christmas” at Hutchins Street Square in Lodi.

 Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and the show begins at 3 p.m.
