An old-fashioned barn party – complete with dinner, dancing to a live band and lively conversation – is taking place in the Fonseca barn.

Similar bashes conducted in the 1990s were sell-outs well in advance and benefitted a wide array of organizations including Scouting.

This time around the benefactors will be the 1,500-plus kids who are members of the Boys & Girls Club of Manteca/Lathrop.

The barn party billed as the second annual Boys & Girls Barn Dinner Dance takes place Saturday, April 10, at the Fonseca Barn at 22695 S. Airport Way. It features a happy hour from 6 to 7 p.m. with steak dinner served at 7 p.m. Dancing to a live band takes place from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The $40 per person ticket includes dinner and dancing.

Organizers noted the early spring is the perfect time as the evening weather is “just right for people, good food, good times, and good conversation.”

Toni Raymus and Kathy Rich are among the organizers of the barn party designed to help keep programs running at the non-profit’s two clubs.
