MODESTO — Modesto Junior College’s GuitArtist Series will present guitarist Jay Kacherski in a solo concert on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the MJC Music Recital Hall on East Campus.

 Tickets are $12 general admission and $10 for students and seniors (62 and better).  Advance tickets are available Tuesday through Friday, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Auditorium Box Office or by calling 575-6776 during these hours.  Tickets will also be available 90 minutes prior to the concert at the door of the Music Recital Hall.

 A native of New York, Kacherski has given solo and ensemble performances throughout the United States and Mexico.  Recent performances include concerts at the Festival Internacional de Guitarra del Conservatorio Nacional de Musica, Mexico City; the Ollin Yoliztli Center for the Arts in Mexico City; the Cactus Cafe in Austin, Texas; Tulane University; McNeese State University; the concert artist series at the Museo Mural Diego Rivera in Mexico City; the XI Concurso y Festival de Guitarra de Taxco; and the concert artist series at the Atlas Performing Arts Center in Washington D.C.   Kacherski has also been a performer and soloist for the Louisiana Choral Foundation and at the Louisiana Summer Music Festival, and was the runner-up finalist in the Texas A&M International Guitar Competition and Symposium in 2010.
