The Punjabi American Association Manteca (PAAM) celebrated its “New Year Family Dinner” and launched their newsletter “PAAM Times” during a celebration in Tracy at Sansar Indian cuisine.

Community newsletter “PAAM Times” will be used to highlight activities and achievements of the association members and their families and will be distributed among its members.

Lathrop City Council member Sukh “Sonny” Dhaliwal presided as chief guest. Dhaliwal lauded the role played by the association in addressing issues of the Punjabi community. He mentioned that there’s a lack of participation by the Punjabi community in the democratic process and stressed that there is a need to actively participateand help bring reforms in order to secure a better for future generations to come.

Secretary Harminder Singh Samana and member Parminder Singh shared the association’s activities of the past year as well as proposed events for the year 2012. Association president Tony Dhaliwal thanked all association members and their families who attended the dinner celebration. Naib Muhar of Tracy played DJ.
